Polytec is looking for a Test and Assembly Technician for our client based just south of Cambridge. You will support the assembly and testing of high‑precision electronic products. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. We’re looking for a strong team player with a proactive and adaptable approach who is motivated and willing to learn. Due to the remote location, you will need to have your own transport.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electronic products to defined specifications and production schedules
  • Maintain accurate production and test records
  • Support validation of assembly and testing processes
  • Assist in training production staff where required
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards
  • Contribute to team objectives to meet customer demand

Essential Requirements

  • Good IT skills (e.g. Excel, Word)
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of PCB assembly and fault finding
  • Soldering to industry standards (e.g. IPC)
  • Familiarity with quality and manufacturing standards
  • Experience working with traceable products
