PSR Solutions are working with an established client within the Civil Engineering Sector to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team on a permanent basis. This role will be project and site based, with the office based in Telford and projects across the Midlands region.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at all levels
  • Ensuring accurate cash flow reporting is implemented and reported
  • Carrying out detailed cost management including forecasting and communicating the results as required
  • Updating the Cost Value Reconciliation and commercial plans throughout project lifecycle
  • Supporting the internal commercial processes ensuring adherence across the project
  • Actively seeking to improve processes and procedures through innovation and challenge
  • Developing a deep understanding of the processes and procedures used by any JV/Alliance that we work with, supporting and assisting in their development and improvement
  • Developing successful external relationships by ensuring that contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate for the business with commercial risks identified
  • Ensuring that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
  • Building and maintaining excellent internal and external client relationships
  • Responsibility for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting
  • Preparing applications for payment, liaising with the contacts and/or client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Familiarity and qualified in using industry-standard contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT) and understanding of construction law
  • Experience in quantity surveying within the MEICA water and wastewater treatment industry or similar
  • Previous experience of commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations
  • Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis and knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of cost management, tendering, and procurement processes
  • Experience working for Tier 1 Civil Engineering projects (desirable)
  • Valid driving licence
