We’re working with a leading engineering business who are looking to recruit a proactive Technician to join their growing team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of testing, validating, and commissioning advanced automated systems, both in‑house and at customer sites worldwide. You’ll play a key part in software setup, diagnostics, technical documentation and customer training, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working with cutting‑edge technology.
Responsibilities
- Completing test and validation activities on complex automated systems and equipment, both onsite in the UK and at customer facilities worldwide
- Commissioning system software and hardware, including Robot AS, PLC and Kepware code
- Carrying out system diagnostics, fault finding and rectification
- Performing system‑wide testing, inspection, and software setup
- Delivering customer training and supporting equipment servicing
- Writing procedures, test plans and technical documentation
- Making engineering drawing modifications to support build quality
- Providing remote customer support for diagnostic queries
- Working safely and in line with internal processes and risk assessments
Qualifications
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
- Hands‑on mechanical/electrical assembly, build, or commissioning work
- Developing Robot and PLC software (beneficial)
- Working professionally with customers and representing a business confidently
- Managing their own time, learning proactively, and taking accountability
- Holding a full, clean driving licence and a valid passport (international travel required)
- Qualified to Degree, BEng or HNC in an electrical discipline or equivalent technical experience
