Are you a senior engineering professional with experience in the design, construction, maintenance and decommissioning of all gas assets (Mains, Services, Multi‑occupancy Buildings, Valves, Pressure Reduction Installations, Meters) looking for a prestigious position with a large utilities infrastructure business? The company has a great reputation for professionalism, training and progressing staff. The position is based at the head office, offering an excellent working environment, with medium to long‑term progression available.

The main focus of the role is to provide technical assurance across all gas activities, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, industry standards and codes of practice.

The Role
  • Full‑time, permanent senior position within a large utilities infrastructure business.
  • Provide technical assurance and subject‑matter expertise across all gas activities.
  • Act as Gas Networks Design Approver and as Technical Advisor under GIRS for all gas activities.
  • Lead and support external and internal technical audits, including GIRS and CoMCoP, acting as the technical authority.
The Person
  • Academic or working background within the engineering sector.
  • Working experience of the design, construction, maintenance and decommissioning of gas assets.
  • Working knowledge of the Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS).
  • Safe Control of Operation AE up to 2 bar.
