About the Role
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Ventilation Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider at a large commercial site in Swindon, Wiltshire (SN3). You’ll play a vital role in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient ventilation systems across a critical environment, supporting clinical teams and ensuring essential building services operate effectively.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer
- Carry out fault finding, repairs, and maintenance across ventilation systems within both reactive and planned maintenance environments.
- Review room data, design information, and commissioning documentation to ensure ventilation systems meet operational requirements.
- Complete room balancing using traverse checking methods and equipment such as bolometers and dampers.
- Support the operation and maintenance of ventilation and Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems in line with HTM03-01 guidelines.
- Carry out mechanical ductwork repairs and assist with Air Handling Unit (AHU) maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct proactive inspections and remedial works across mechanical, heating, plumbing, ventilation, and associated building services systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately within the CAFM / maintenance management systems.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience as an M&E maintenance engineer within building services or HVAC environments.
- Strong fault-finding ability and the capability to work both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
