Key Skills & Experience
- Mechanical Design Engineer / Lead Design Engineer experience
- Ideally working with heavy engineering, structural steel design and fabrication, experience in bulk material handling conveyors / heavy industrial systems (oil & gas, petrochem highly relevant)
- 3D CAD design, typically Autodesk Inventor / Revit / SolidWorks (or similar)
- Experienced with technical drawings (ideally BS 8888 / drafting standards)
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA)
- Management of Bill of Materials (BOM) management, design reviews / checking / validation
Responsibilities
- Lead design delivery across multiple engineering projects
- Produce and review 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications
- Coordinate design teams and manage interfaces between systems
- Drive value engineering and design optimisation
- Support junior engineers and provide technical guidance
