About the Role
Our client is a FIRAS-certified contractor specialising in Passive Fire Protection (PFP) services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Fire Damper Installer / Engineer to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.
Based in Sunderland, the successful candidate will travel to various client sites nationwide. Some projects will require working away from home, so flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and maintain fire dampers in line with industry regulations and company standards.
- Ensure correct assembly, alignment and secure installation within ductwork and ventilation systems.
- Carry out inspections, testing and routine maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and assist with repairs and component replacements.
- Complete service reports and compliance documentation accurately.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures on-site.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own transport essential.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
- Basic knowledge of fire damper systems, construction practices and site safety.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive and safety-focused approach.
- Willingness to travel and work away when required.
Salary
£18.00 - £19.00 per hour depending on experience, plus working away allowance, paid accommodation, travel time and overtime opportunities.
