A well-established and growing engineering business within the pump and water solutions sector is looking to bring in a skilled Electrical Technician to strengthen their Gloucester depot team. This is a hands-on, technically engaging role offering a mix of workshop and on-site projects, ideal for someone who wants variety, stability, and long-term career progression within a specialist industry.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining and supporting pumping systems and associated electrical equipment, ensuring everything is operating safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Repairing, servicing, and testing electrical control panels
- Installing and connecting pumps and control panels both in the depot and on customer sites
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
- Conducting electrical testing and system calibration
- Commissioning electrical systems to meet client requirements
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Maintaining accurate service and installation records
- Liaising with clients on-site to ensure smooth delivery of work
- Working in line with all health & safety standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Technician (ideally within industrial or pump environments)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and fault finding
- Ability to interpret relay logic and analyse control systems
- Experience working with submersible pumps (desirable)
- Competent in reading technical diagrams and schematics
- Strong hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
Desirable (Not Essential):
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
- Experience with variable speed drives
- Background in the water or utilities sector (e.g. AMP frameworks)
- Relevant electrical qualifications
