We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing surfacing and highways contractor delivering projects ranging from £100k to £10m across public and private sector frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to take ownership of multiple schemes including resurfacing, highways maintenance, road construction, civils and infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in commercial performance, client relationships and supporting operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of surfacing and highways projects from pre-contract through to final account
  • Preparation and submission of valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts
  • Subcontractor procurement, management and payment certification
  • Cost forecasting, budgeting and reporting
  • Contract administration under NEC and other standard forms of contract
  • Managing project risk and identifying commercial opportunities
  • Supporting operational teams with commercial advice and project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Assisting with tender reviews and pricing support where required

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within highways, surfacing or civil engineering
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience managing projects ranging from small works through to major infrastructure schemes
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
  • Full UK driving licence
