Are you an experienced Electronics Test/Repair Technician? Would you like to work for a very successful organisation where they really look after their staff and to work within a friendly and happy environment? Then this could be the ideal role for you! Our client is a multi award winning manufacturing company based in Southend on Sea, Essex. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Electronics Test/Repair Technician to join their friendly team. Ideally you will reside within a commutable distance to Southend on Sea, Essex. Please note sponsorship is not being offered for this role.

Duties:

  • Functional testing of board level products, as per manufacturing drawings and test procedures, to ensure correct and safe operation.
  • Fault find electronics down to component level to determine causes and remediate faults.
  • Fault find and repair final assemblies and sub-assemblies as required.
  • Rework pcbs to a high standard of accuracy, including Single sided and PTH pcbs using both Through Hole and SMD components utilising Hand soldering, Hot air rework & Track repair skills (IPC-610 and/or 7711/7721 training an advantage).
  • Provide technical support to the Production teams when necessary.
  • Conduct electrical testing on products and components, selected by the QC department, to ensure compliance with safety critical standards by using existing test procedures and assisting in the design and maintenance of suitable testing methods in conjunction with the QC and Design departments.
  • Operating within a team, self-manage to achieve necessary production targets by ensuring timekeeping and housekeeping are maintained at the highest possible level.
  • Complete required documentation to record production metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and progressing opportunities.

Education and Experience:

  • Good electronics knowledge; principally analogue; also digital & mains power supplies.
  • Holding either a Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (e.g. ONC, BTEC Diploma, C&G/EAL Level 3 Technical Diploma) OR a relevant Level 3 NVQ/Apprenticeship accompanied by equivalent industry experience OR be able to demonstrate the knowledge/experience of those levels.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Be conversant with the use of multi-meters, audio analysers, digital oscilloscopes, and similar audio test equipment.
  • Product and method training will be given as required.

Salary:

Salary £35,000 - £37,000 per annum plus discretionary annual bonus. Free lunch provided daily in their canteen.
