Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading UK facilities management and construction organisation to recruit a Commercial Manager to support the delivery of Education and Healthcare FM projects nationwide. This role focuses on the commercial management of complex, multi-site FM contracts with a combined value of approximately £11m. The position offers flexible and remote working, with occasional travel to offices in Solihull, as well as visits to project sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day commercial management of multi-site FM contracts, ensuring value is maximised and risks are controlled.
- Maintain and improve commercial processes, payment mechanisms and KPI monitoring.
- Manage contract conditions, variations, subcontractor agreements and dispute resolution.
- Oversee invoicing, WIP and payment processes, intervening where corrective action is required.
- Support lifecycle planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly cost/profit reporting.
- Produce and present monthly performance dashboards, explaining variances and trends.
- Review and optimise commercial systems including Concept CAFM, Orbit, HFM and Builders Profile.
- Support bids by reviewing contract documentation, leading commercial assessments and preparing evidence-based responses.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, supply chain partners and internal teams.
Key Skills & Experience
- Senior-level commercial experience within FM or a related environment.
- Strong background managing complex contracts such as PFI, LIFTco, JCT, NEC3 or NEC4.
- Solid understanding of hard and soft FM services, including cleaning, catering and lifecycle planning.
- Proven ability to manage risk, opportunities, disputes and contractual compliance.
- Experience producing financial reports, forecasts and performance dashboards.
- Confident engaging with clients and leading commercial discussions and negotiations.
- Degree-level qualification or relevant professional membership.
