Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Skills Coach/Trainer – Plumbing & Gas to support apprentices through their full learning journey, providing workplace coaching, progress reviews, mentoring, and assessment to ensure timely achievement through to End Point Assessment.
This is a full-time permanent FE role based in a local college, managing a caseload of Plumbing apprentices while working closely with employers to deliver a high-quality apprenticeship experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and support a caseload of Plumbing & Gas apprentices
- Deliver coaching, mentoring, assessment, and constructive learner feedback
- Conduct workplace or remote progress reviews every 10–12 weeks
- Carry out initial assessments, skills scans, and learner onboarding
- Monitor apprentice progress against skills, knowledge, behaviours, and EPA Gateway readiness
- Track and support off-the-job training hours for audit compliance
- Maintain employer engagement and regular stakeholder communication
- Utilise E-Portfolio, EBS, Microsoft Teams, and Google Classroom systems for learner tracking
- Liaise with central apprenticeship teams and EPA organisations
- Strong Plumbing & Gas industry background
- Experience working with apprentices or vocational learners
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, reviews, and workplace assessment
- Confident using e-portfolio and remote learning systems
- Excellent communication and employer engagement skills
