MK Search are working with a very well respected mechanically biased M&E contractor who require a mechanical supervisor from a pipefitting background to work on a notable data centre they are delivering in Slough. Reporting to a mechanical project manager you will take control of the plumbing and pipefitting packages, tasked with managing a large team of in‑house operatives alongside specialist subcontractors.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of various subcontractors, foreman and chargehands
- Establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project
- Take responsibility for health and safety on site and lead by example
- Organise workers, plant, machinery and materials
- Supervise construction activities
- Coordinate with all other crafts working on a job site to ensure smooth transitions
- Identify materials and equipment that may be required
- Ensure construction is carried out accurately, following plans and specifications
- Conduct quality control inspections on project sites
- Ensure that contractor activities are properly coordinated
- Ensure that tasks are completed on time and to the required quality standards
- Analyse and quickly resolve any work problems that may arise and ensure that all deficiencies on any given project are corrected in a timely manner
- Provide training to employees and apprentices so they are provided with relevant work experience
- Maintain detailed and accurate site reports
