Principal People are working with a growing consultancy supporting a major construction project in North Yorkshire, involving multiple Tier 1 contractors, specialist subcontractors and a complex live working environment.
This is not a traditional compliance or inspection role. You’ll be embedded within the project team, providing practical H&S leadership, coordinating multiple parties and influencing stakeholders across the project.
What will you be doing?
- Daily site walks and proactive H&S monitoring
- Practical H&S advice to contractors and the project team
- Managing contractor, trade and construction interfaces
- Identifying and managing key construction and people/plant risks
- Challenging contractors and driving corrective action
- Chairing a weekly site-wide H&S and coordination meeting
- Producing weekly/monthly H&S reporting
- Supporting the monthly site-wide coordination pack, covering upcoming works, risks, interfaces and operational impacts
- Communicating confidently with everyone from site operatives to senior stakeholders
- Producing professional reports and presentations using Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Able to chair meetings and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Strong construction knowledge
- Competent with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ideally comfortable using AI tools to support reporting and coordination
