We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join our Bristol office. You will be responsible for delivering the highest levels of service to our customers, the daily running of the site and ensuring a safe environment for all who work on or visit the site. You need to be computer savvy to respond to the growing use of technology in construction generally and daily site procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Examines all construction information for accuracy, completeness and discrepancies.
- Liaises with consultants and sub-contractors to ensure a satisfactory information flow in line with company information release schedule and technical queries.
- Understands the contract programme, updates and tracks progress on a weekly basis using ASTA.
- Produces short term programmes related to the main construction programme.
- Manages materials procurement in line with project construction programme procurement schedule.
- Manages and coordinates sub‑contractors’ attendance on site and ensures work is carried out in a timely manner.
- Implements and maintains the quality test and inspection plans.
- Ensures all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, project specifications, drawings and current regulations and standards, and any non‑conformances are dealt with promptly and effectively.
- Ensures prospective sub‑contractors are fully aware of quality standards and arranges pre‑start meeting with sub‑contractor and foreman prior to works commencing.
- Manages 4P’s in accordance with project requirements.
- Completes site diary daily.
- Ensures prospective sub‑contractors are fully aware of safety and environmental standards.
- Obtains and comments on sub‑contractors method statements, providing guidance where necessary to ensure safe working practices are implemented using RAMS appraisal sheet.
- Produces risk and COSHH assessments and method statements seeking outside guidance as required.
Qualifications:
- ONC / HNC equivalent or trade background with a recognised progression through site management.
- Degree or MCIOB membership desired but not essential.
Experience:
- 3 years experience as a site manager with a similar sized organisation or 5 years as an assistant site manager with a leading construction company.
- Broad understanding of traditional construction, detailed knowledge of either site engineering or building finishes.
