Shift Mechanical Engineer Central London (Hospital Environment)
• £45,000 + Benefits
• 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (7am‑7pm / 7pm‑7am)
• Secure, long‑term permanent position
Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on mechanical building services
- Fault finding and repairing heating, cooling, and associated systems
- Monitoring, operating, and maintaining critical plant equipment
- Supporting the continuous operation of essential hospital systems
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance regulations
- Maintaining accurate shift reports and maintenance documentation
- Escalating faults and issues within a highly regulated environment
Qualifications
- Mechanical apprenticeship trained or equivalent qualification (essential)
- Proven experience within a large or complex facilities environment
- Strong knowledge of heating and cooling systems
- Experience with steam systems and/or BMS (advantageous)
- Ability to work safely within a critical, high‑compliance environment
- Willingness to work a rotating 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days & nights)
- Reliable, proactive, and team‑oriented
