Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy, delivering services for private and public sector projects across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education, and healthcare. Operating nationally, they provide expert guidance for a wide range of clients. They are looking for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join the growing team at their London office. Key role responsibilities:

  • Undertake Transport Statements, Assessments and Travel Plans to support planning applications for various private sector clients;
  • Design project management, co‑ordination with other disciplines/offices, client liaison, proposals and invoicing;
  • Be proficient in undertaking junction capacity assessments using industry standard software including JUNCTIONS and LINSIG;
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD and preliminary highway design is desirable but not essential;
  • Good organisation, communication, and presentation skills, with high standard of attention to detail and personal work ethic;
  • Be willing and able to mentor junior staff in their training and development;
  • Experience producing Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans;
  • Understanding of relevant local and transport policy and guidance;
  • Liaise with clients, colleagues and statutory bodies including Planning Authorities and Highway Authorities, to ensure efficient progress with project commissions;
  • Help to deliver excellent customer service;
  • Follow a continued professional development/programme of training.

Key skills, experience and attributes required:

  • A minimum qualification of a degree or equivalent – ideally in Geography, Environmental Management or Transport Planning;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint specifically) and have strong analytical skills;
  • Either have or are working towards professional membership with CIHT;
  • Organised and methodical with a keen eye for quality and the ability to solve problems effectively;
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team, and have the necessary skills and experience to work under pressure to deadlines and budgets;
  • Self‑motivated with a positive attitude, pro‑active approach and desire to develop a career in the field of Transportation, with development support;
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Transport Software (i.e. JUNCTIONS, LINSIG, TRICS);
  • Someone who will engage in our positive health and safety culture, notifying the company of any potentials risk to your, or your colleagues, health, safety, and wellbeing whilst at work. Cooperate with the company by following processes and training provided on health and safety.
