A growing multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Technician to join their expanding structures team in Birmingham city centre. The business delivers civil and structural engineering solutions across residential, commercial, industrial and public sector developments, working closely with architects, developers and contractors to deliver practical and efficient designs.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality drawings and BIM models, support engineers throughout the design process and play a key role in developing internal drafting and BIM standards.
The Role
- Produce structural drawings and construction details using AutoCAD
- Develop and manage Revit BIM models, including drawing extraction
- Coordinate models with architects and external consultants
- Produce reinforced concrete detailing and schedules
- Liaise with clients, contractors and design teams
- Support engineers and manage drawing/model output across projects
- Assist in mentoring junior technicians and maintaining standards
- Attend meetings and occasional site visits
Requirements
- Strong experience using AutoCAD and Revit within a structural environment
- Experience with reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling
- Familiarity with UK standards, Eurocodes and BIM workflows
- Experience working on residential and commercial projects
