We’re expanding our Manchester team and are looking for a Power Systems professional to take a leading role in delivering some of the UK’s most technically challenging and high-profile data centre, mission‑critical, utilities and complex power infrastructure projects.
This isn’t simply a design role. You’ll have the opportunity to lead technically, influence clients, mentor engineers and shape projects from concept through delivery — while helping build and grow a high-performing Power Systems capability.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the design and delivery of complex power systems and substation projects
- Undertake and review load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, arc‑flash and transient studies
- Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Engage directly with clients and support proposals, bids and business development
- Review designs and manage technical, programme, budget and quality risks
- Mentor and develop engineers and contribute to technical excellence
- Help shape engineering standards, innovation and the future direction of the Power Systems team
What we’re looking for
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- CEng or actively working towards chartership
- Significant experience in power systems design, analysis and delivery across data centres, utilities, renewables or critical infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of power system studies and electrical network design
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing client relationships
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar software
