Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This 20‑year arrangement delivers ~£7bn of major projects. We are recruiting high‑value expertise from regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment delivering major projects and supporting services.
The Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS) Retreatment Plant (SRP) Project will provide a facility that receives Special Nuclear Material (SNM) from existing stores across the Sellafield site and processes it into a form suitable for safe and secure storage until 2120.
Responsibilities include:
- Produce design deliverables that provide a fit‑for‑purpose integrated solution meeting specified requirements, including validation and verification, and preserve the design intent and align with the plant configuration.
- Ensure the design solution is able to be manufactured, constructed, commissioned, handed over, put into operation, maintained and decommissioned.
- Provide support to resolve manufacturing, inspection, and test technical queries/production permits/concessions.
- Manage and direct designers in delivery of mechanical plant and equipment drawings and documents.
- Show knowledge of plant layout, setup, installation and alignment of plant and equipment and machinery for works test, integrated test, and site installation.
- Write and check works test requirement documentation and integrated works test documents for plant, equipment and machinery, interacting with CE&I engineers to ensure complete multi‑disciplinary interactions.
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience in design and integration of machines in accordance with the SoMSR.
- Experience and working knowledge of CDM, SoMSR, PUWER & LOLER.
- Experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience in the use of Autodesk Vault Basis or Vault Pro (file management).
- Familiar with GPS ISO (BS 8888).
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g., HNC/HND with significant experience) in an engineering discipline.
- Attained or working towards chartered or incorporated status with a recognised professional body (e.g., IMechE).
- Experience of highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
