An established and growing building services engineering consultancy in North Bristol is seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join its close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a small but highly successful consultancy, working on a wide range of commercial, retail, industrial and mixed-use projects across the UK. The business has experienced strong growth since its formation and is now looking to bring in an experienced engineer to help lead projects and support the development of junior staff.
The Role
- Lead mechanical building services design across all RIBA stages
- Deliver Stage 4 technical design and detailed mechanical layouts
- Manage projects from feasibility through to completion
- Work closely with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections
- Oversee installation, commissioning and contractor performance
- Support and mentor graduate and junior engineers
About You
- Strong experience delivering building services mechanical design across UK projects
- Solid understanding of mechanical design and calculation methodologies
- Experience producing technical drawings (AutoCAD essential)
- AutoCAD (essential)
- Revit / BIM awareness
- Mechanical calculation software (e.g. IES, Hevacomp or similar)
- Degree / HND / HNC in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
