Our client, a key player in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working on complex highway designs, including junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing detailed designs for highways, including junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths
- Utilising AutoCAD 2D for design and drafting tasks
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects
- Conducting site visits and assessments to inform design decisions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Preparing technical reports and documentation
- Supervising and mentoring junior engineers
- Working three days a week in the office as part of a hybrid working arrangement
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in highways engineering and design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D
- Strong understanding of highway design principles and standards
- Experience with designing junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Understanding of IR35 regulations
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
