A growing and well-established new build main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the Midlands is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Design Manager.
As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design process on new build construction projects ranging from £10m to £30m. Based in Coalville, you’ll work closely with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure design delivery aligns with programme, budget, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
- Manage consultant teams and coordinate multidisciplinary design information
- Drive design programmes in line with project timelines
- Review and challenge design solutions to ensure buildability and cost efficiency
- Chair design team meetings and manage design risk registers
- Work closely with commercial, planning, and delivery teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
- Support bid and tender processes where required
- Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager with a main contractor
- Experience delivering new build projects valued between £10m–£30m
- Strong technical and construction knowledge across multiple sectors
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Relevant construction or design qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
- £75,000 – £85,000 salary (DOE)
