6 month+ contract – UK eligible candidates only. Up to £50p/h Ltd (Outside IR35) – 40 hours a week.
The role is to produce detailed design packages suitable for issue to client and construction for DCS, ESD and F&G Systems. The main purpose of the job is to produce the Design information from I/O allocations and Field cable schedules supplied by the client. The design will include detailed or typical layout drawings, parts lists, AC/DC wiring diagrams and/or schedules and I/O wiring schedules. There will also be a requirement to produce supporting documentation, site work packs, and instruction sets. Work with the project team to produce the necessary documentation required by the client and provide suitable information for construction of the systems. Provide knowledge and solution to achieve a final system design that meets exactly the client requirements, whilst following all internal procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the hardware scope of project quotations.
- Review project proposals and customer specifications, to ensure the agreed hardware design is achieved.
- Liaise with the customer & our internal project team, to ensure a projects delivery milestones are met.
- Purchase the necessary equipment required on a project.
- Produce hardware design documentation, to allow our Assembly department to manufacture the cabinet / panel, to a projects required specifications (General arrangement / detailed layout drawings, electrical diagrams, equipment / wiring schedules, power & heat calculations etc.).
- Make use of existing hardware designs where possible, to streamline the design process.
- Maintain hardware design documentation, during a projects lifecycle. Track changes, update as required and ensure all departments have the latest copies.
- Liaise with the Panel Build technicians / Inspection departments, to allow for a smooth transition during a projects lifecycle.
- Be prepared to undertake site surveys (Both onshore and offshore) (Offshore training will be available for the right candidate).
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in the design of DCS, ESD and F&G Systems within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Educated to HNC/HND level (or equivalent) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or similar).
- AutoCAD experience.
- To be able to work to procedures in a continually audited environment.
