We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major, long-term scheme in the Midlands. The Role
Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you will support the financial management of a large-scale construction project, gaining valuable experience across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cost management and commercial reporting
- Support the preparation of valuations and cost forecasts
- Assist with procurement of subcontract packages
- Monitor subcontractor performance, payments, and variations
- Help identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Support the commercial team in maintaining accurate financial control
- Liaise with site teams and supply chain partners
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in an Assistant QS or Trainee QS role within construction
- Exposure to main contractor environments
- Knowledge or experience of NEC contracts (desirable)
- Any experience within MOJ / custodial / prison projects would be advantageous
- Strong numerical and organisational skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a commercial role
