We are currently recruiting for a Production Planner on a permanent basis for a leading manufacturing company based in Ringwood, Hampshire.

The primary duties for the Production Planner will be to ensure the flow of work efficiently throughout the manufacturing process. Responsible for planning, routing and releasing works orders and working closely with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Purchasing teams to ensure materials, information and capacity are aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Create, plan and route works orders through the manufacturing process
  • Generate and maintain production routes within the ERP system
  • Understand raw material and component requirements for manufactured parts
  • Release works orders daily in line with production priorities and capacity
  • Print and prepare works orders, drawings and documentation for manufacture
  • Create and review planning BOM (Bill of Materials) reports
  • Identify and correct errors within planning and BOM data
  • Process and manage engineering change requests through planning and manufacture
  • Support make / buy decisions in collaboration with Engineering and Purchasing
  • Communicate clearly with production teams regarding priorities, issues and progress
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and production

Ideal Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a production planning or manufacturing planning
  • MRP / ERP systems or similar experience
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOM structures
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Good basic IT skills, including Excel, Outlook and ERP systems
  • Strong awareness of health and safety within a manufacturing environment

Salary £35K - £40K

Hours Monday to Friday (Flexi Time)
