This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious HSE professional who is looking to build upon their existing experience and develop their career within a supportive environment that genuinely invests in its people.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate environmental improvement plans and support strategic sustainability objectives across the site.
- Support managers and supervisors to identify workplace hazards and implement effective control measures to minimise risk.
- Carry out environmental and health & safety risk assessments, ensuring they remain compliant, current and effective.
- Act as the first point of contact for environmental and health & safety matters, providing guidance and support across departments.
- Support the site's ISO45001 management system and assist with the continuous improvement of HSE processes and procedures.
- Coordinate mandatory site surveys including fire, noise, slip and DSEAR assessments.
- Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations, helping to identify root causes and preventative actions.
- Support internal audits, inspections and compliance activities across the site.
- Promote a positive safety culture and increase awareness of environmental responsibilities throughout the business.
- Support emergency response activities, monthly health and safety meetings and employee wellbeing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a Health, Safety and Environment function.
- NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum requirement.
- Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or similar operational environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
- A proactive and positive approach with the confidence to influence best practice and promote a strong safety culture.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A collaborative, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits or compliance-based inspections.
