Precision Placements are currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Building Inspector (Class 2F and above) on behalf of a highly respected and expanding Building Control organisation operating across the South of England. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that has built a strong reputation within the industry for delivering a professional, pragmatic, and technically focused Building Control service across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, education, mixed‑use developments, and specialist projects.
The company has continued to grow significantly following the changes introduced by the Building Safety Regulator and is seeking ambitious RBIs who are looking for long‑term stability, varied project exposure, and genuine career progression. The successful candidate will be based around the Reading area and will work on an interesting portfolio of projects ranging from residential and commercial developments through to more specialist schemes.
The organisation is known for its collaborative and supportive approach, with a strong emphasis on technical competency, practical problem solving, and maintaining excellent client relationships. Unlike many traditional Building Control environments, this role offers the opportunity to become involved in diverse projects across multiple sectors, allowing inspectors to broaden their technical exposure and continue progressing professionally.
The Role:
- Carrying out site inspections and Building Regulation assessments
- Undertaking plan checking duties across residential and commercial projects
- Managing projects through to completion
- Providing technical advice and support to clients, contractors, and developers
- Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Working closely with an experienced team of Building Control professionals
Requirements:
- Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2F or above
- Strong technical understanding of Building Regulations and construction processes
- Previous experience within either Local Authority or Registered Building Control Approver environments
- Good communication and client‑facing skills
- Ability to manage workload independently and professionally
- Full UK driving licence
