Precision Placements are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2F Registered Building Inspector to join a busy and well-established Local Authority Building Control team based in South West London. This is an excellent opportunity for an RBI seeking a long-term rolling contract with a strong pipeline of work across both residential and commercial projects. The authority is looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become an integral part of the team immediately.

The successful candidate will be working on a varied caseload covering plan checking, site inspections, dangerous structures, and general Building Control duties across a diverse portfolio of developments. Projects range from residential schemes and mixed-use developments through to commercial refurbishments and new-build applications. This position would suit an inspector who enjoys autonomy, professional trust, and the flexibility of contract work, whilst still having the stability of a long-term assignment within a supportive Local Authority environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out site inspections across residential and commercial developments
  • Assessing compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation
  • Undertaking plan checking duties where required
  • Managing your own caseload efficiently and professionally
  • Providing technical advice to clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Building Control team
Requirements
  • Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2F
  • Strong technical knowledge across a variety of building types
  • Experience working within Local Authority or Approved Inspector environments
  • Ability to manage workload independently
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
