Transport Planner
Location: Redditch
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimise vehicle routes to maximise fleet utilisation and delivery performance
- Coordinate fleet schedules and monitor vehicle availability to maintain operational efficiency
- Liaise with drivers, customers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations
- Manage route changes, delays, breakdowns, and other operational issues as they arise
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and operational procedures
- Maintain accurate transport records, reporting, and fleet performance data
- Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations
Requirements
- Previous experience within transport planning, logistics coordination, or fleet planning
- Good understanding of transport operations, route planning, and driver hours regulations
- Experience working within fast‑paced logistics or transport environments
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Experience using transport planning systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Logistics or transport qualifications beneficial but not essential
- UK Driving Licence advantageous but not essential
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 18:00 with a 30‑minute unpaid break
- Some weekend working may be required during busy periods or emergency situations
