Salary Bracket: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Location: Hybrid / Reading Office / Site-Based (Extensive UK Travel Required)

Working Hours: 07:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday

Package: 24 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain & Product Quality
    • Supplier Performance: Assist the Quality Manager with the daily tracking, monitoring, and verification of external supply chain product quality metrics.
    • Non-Conformance Resolution: Coordinate the logging, investigation, and robust close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring long-term corrective and preventative actions are fully implemented.
    • Root Cause Analysis: Lead and assist with Corrective Action Requests (CARs) using structured root cause methodologies to prevent issues from reoccurring.
    • Technical Liaison: Facilitate the seamless communication of engineering technical files, drawings, and components specifications with production partners.
    • On-Site Technical Support: Provide practical, hands‑on rework support and technical validation on‑site if minor delivery variances or installation snags emerge.
  • Auditing & Reporting
    • Supplier Evaluations: Schedule, conduct, and deliver detailed formal reports for internal audits and external supplier site evaluations across the UK.
    • KPI Management: Verify supply chain KPIs, ensuring all audit cycles are completed within one week of their due date and closed out on time and in full.

Candidate Requirements (Experience & Skills)

  • Background: Proven quality experience within a high‑precision manufacturing, structural engineering, or construction‑integrated environment.
  • Standards Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality frameworks. Additional exposure or awareness of BS EN 1090 (structural steelwork), ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Literacy: Completely confident reading, interpreting, and querying detailed engineering and technical drawings.
  • Supply Chain Exposure: Previous experience working directly within or managing an external, supply‑chain‑led manufacturing business model is a distinct advantage.
  • Travel Flexibility: Must hold a full UK Driving License and be fully comfortable with extensive UK travel for supplier visits and site inspections.

Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Engineering (Graduate level, or equivalent vocational experience).
  • Certified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor in ISO 9001.
  • Valid CSCS Card (SMSTS or SSSTS for site access).
  • Formal Health & Safety training or awareness (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or Risk Assessment training) is advantageous.
