This Maintenance Technician position is based across a large and beautiful university estate, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within a structured and professional environment, with consistent workload and long-term job security.
The Role
- General building fabric maintenance across campus buildings
- Plumbing repairs to sanitary ware and associated pipework
- Carpentry tasks including doors, ironmongery, shelving and fittings
- Minor roofing, guttering and external fabric repairs
The Person
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or time-served equivalent
- Strong building maintenance background
- Able to work independently and manage workload
- Professional, customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
Hours, Overtime & Call-Out
- 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- Paid overtime available
- Call-out rota approx. 1 in 4-5 weekends
- £2,700 annual call-out rota payment
- Standby: £38.20 weekday / £70.20 weekend or bank holiday
- Attendance: approx. £15 per hour (minimum 2 hours per call-out)
- Call-outs are generally infrequent and short
Salary Enhancements
- £600 per year skill uplifts available for additional skills:
- Lead roofing / flashing
- Sarnafil roofing systems
- Plaster patching / making good
