The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial management of construction projects from tender through to final account. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role involves cost control, contract management, procurement and financial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered in line with client specifications and commercial targets. The position also requires regular communication with clients and internal teams, along with travel to sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit tenders, valuations, claims and variations while monitoring project budgets and financial performance.
- Manage contracts, subcontracts and procurement, including valuing subcontractor work and certifying interim and final payments.
- Control cash flow through accurate measurement, invoicing and cost tracking, including support with monthly CVR and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with company and HSQE procedures while maintaining auditable records.
- Liaise with clients, project managers and site teams, reporting progress and supporting the Commercial Manager, including deputising when required.
- Support overall project delivery to client specification, including nationwide site visits and general business support activities.
Requirements
- Quantity Surveying Degree (UK).
- High level of Microsoft package knowledge.
- 1–3 years’ previous experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication skills with a professional and proactive approach.
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and maintain accountability.
- Team-oriented with a flexible and positive attitude.
