About the Role:
We're looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Department and play a key role in delivering high-end, prestigious projects across the UK and Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to work strategically and efficiently within a supportive team, ensuring profitability, cost control, and accurate project reporting. From subcontractor procurement to final accounts, you'll take ownership of key commercial functions that keep projects on track and successful.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering, and order placement within budget.
- Preparing valuations, applications, and accurate cost reporting.
- Overseeing subcontract orders, ensuring smooth handover to site/project teams.
- Liaising confidently with contractors, architects, designers, and clients.
- Attending site visits and meetings (pre-start, design, and final account stages).
- Ensuring retention, applications, and payments are always tracked and up to date.
- Identifying opportunities for design alternatives, cost savings, and value engineering.
- Supporting multiple projects simultaneously with strong organisation and efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor (ideally in refurbishment / high-end residential projects).
- Strong technical knowledge of joinery, cabinet making, doors, windows, and installations.
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and contracts confidently.
- Strong communication skills - able to build rapport with clients and subcontractors.
- Organised, proactive, and detail-driven, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable but not essential:
- RICS accreditation or HNC/Degree in Construction.
- AutoCAD / estimating software experience.
- Knowledge of lean management or antique restoration.
