Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop your career with one of the UK's most respected civil engineering contractors?
Our client is delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland, covering sectors including highways, bridges, marine, coastal, rail, environmental improvements and renewable energy.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their Belfast-based commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on technically challenging projects while developing their commercial expertise within a supportive business that genuinely invests in its people.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of civil engineering projects from procurement through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include
- Preparing and analysing project budgets
- Producing interim valuations and final accounts
- Procuring subcontractors and preparing order documentation
- Assessing and certifying subcontractor applications for payment
- Managing variations throughout the project lifecycle
- Assisting with Extension of Time and Loss & Expense submissions
- Identifying and managing commercial risks
- Producing accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports
- Building strong working relationships with operational site teams and the wider commercial function
About You
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Previous experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Good numerical and IT skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work using your own initiative
- Flexibility to travel to project sites when required
