The Role

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our products, suppliers and manufacturing processes meet the highest quality standards. Working closely with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain teams, you will carry out inspections, support supplier audits, manage non-conformance activities and contribute to continual improvement initiatives across the business. The role will also involve occasional travel to supplier sites to carry out quality audits and inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect fabricated, machined and welded components against engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out mechanical inspections of components, assemblies, paint finishes and welds.
  • Verify incoming materials and supplier documentation.
  • Support supplier quality management activities and undertake supplier audits.
  • Assist with maintaining ISO 9001 and other quality management systems.
  • Raise, investigate and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through quality investigations.
  • Prepare and maintain certification packs including Certificates of Conformity, calibration records, welding documentation and test reports.
  • Produce dimensional inspection reports and interpret relevant engineering standards.
  • Recommend process improvements to support continuous improvement across the business.
  • Provide quality support to production and engineering teams as required.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong engineering background and a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards.

Essential

  • HNC/HND in Engineering
  • 3-5 years’ experience within a manufacturing, engineering or project-based environment
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as vernier calipers and micrometers
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Full UK driving licence
