Salary: £40,000 plus per annum

About the Company

A trusted and recognised provider of precision components and engineering solutions to the aerospace and defence, oil and gas, nuclear, and commercial bronze sectors. Delivering work to the highest industry standards, controls, and compliance.
The company operates with family values at heart, maintaining a positive, approachable, and welcoming culture where collaboration and continuous improvement are encouraged.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our expanding team. Working closely with Operations, the Shop Floor, Customers, and Suppliers, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards.

Reporting directly to the QHSE Manager, you will lead quality improvement programmes and actively support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects — ensuring all quality requirements are clearly understood and implemented. You will also take an active role in third‑party supplier audits and the creation of downstream QA documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop quality‑related improvement initiatives.
  • Support and oversee quality aspects of NPI projects.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Conduct and participate in supplier and internal audits.
  • Create and maintain quality documentation (FAIRs, ITPs, Quality Plans).
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.

Essential Qualifications & Training

  • Minimum HNC in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering.
  • External Auditor trained.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience applying quality tools such as RCA, PDCA, R&R, SPC, and 8D.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Competent in creating and managing quality assurance documentation.
  • Working knowledge of PPAP processes.
  • CMM programming experience (preferably Aberlink) is an advantage.

This position would ideally suit a candidate with prior experience in quality assurance within a machine shop environment, particularly in the aerospace or nuclear sectors. You’ll be methodical, detail‑oriented, and possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
