Expleo is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join a leading automotive OEM programme based in Solihull. This role sits within the Vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) function, responsible for delivering exceptional levels of vehicle refinement and perceived quality across the full product lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet customer expectations for noise‑free and leak‑free performance, with a focus on:
- Squeak & Rattle (S&R)
- Water and Air Ingress
Location: Solihull, UK
Rate: £27.20 per hour
Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support root cause investigations using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FTA, PDCA)
- Analyse data from:
- Manufacturing processes
- Fleet and durability testing
- Warranty claims and customer feedback
- Drive issue resolution across cross‑functional teams, including:
- Design Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Supplier Quality
- Support complete vehicle testing and validation
- Ensure achievement of refinement and quality targets
- Present technical findings to stakeholders and senior management
- Apply strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive resolution
Skills & Experience Required
- Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience
- Ability to plan work/events and organise detailed activity to deliver the outcomes
- Ability to lead and resolve complex issues through leading cross‑functional teams
- Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Demonstrate problem solving experience e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving
- Good experience of quality tools (8D, Fish bone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y etc)
- Ability to analyse large data that translates into next actions
- Ability to learn new skills quickly (Have a Growth Mind‑set)
- Demonstrate good negotiation skills to promote issues to next phase of investigation
- A proactive and personable nature to engage with cross‑functional areas
- Microsoft package elements such as PowerPoint and Excel to an intermediate level
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive manufacturing processes
- Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management
- A full UK driving licence
