Expleo is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join a leading automotive OEM programme based in Solihull. This role sits within the Vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) function, responsible for delivering exceptional levels of vehicle refinement and perceived quality across the full product lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet customer expectations for noise‑free and leak‑free performance, with a focus on:

  • Squeak & Rattle (S&R)
  • Water and Air Ingress

Location: Solihull, UK
Rate: £27.20 per hour
Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support root cause investigations using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FTA, PDCA)
  • Analyse data from:
    • Manufacturing processes
    • Fleet and durability testing
    • Warranty claims and customer feedback
  • Drive issue resolution across cross‑functional teams, including:
    • Design Engineering
    • Manufacturing
    • Supplier Quality
  • Support complete vehicle testing and validation
  • Ensure achievement of refinement and quality targets
  • Present technical findings to stakeholders and senior management
  • Apply strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive resolution

Skills & Experience Required

  • Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience
  • Ability to plan work/events and organise detailed activity to deliver the outcomes
  • Ability to lead and resolve complex issues through leading cross‑functional teams
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrate problem solving experience e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving
  • Good experience of quality tools (8D, Fish bone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y etc)
  • Ability to analyse large data that translates into next actions
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly (Have a Growth Mind‑set)
  • Demonstrate good negotiation skills to promote issues to next phase of investigation
  • A proactive and personable nature to engage with cross‑functional areas
  • Microsoft package elements such as PowerPoint and Excel to an intermediate level
  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive manufacturing processes
  • Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management
  • A full UK driving licence
