Fraser Edwards are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor for a long-term contract role based in Hardham, West Sussex. This role will be working on a large clean water project in Pulborough (RH20 1LA), involving significant mechanical installation works, including pipework up to approximately 800mm. Our client is a well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure projects. Due to ongoing project demands, they are looking to bring in an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support site operations.
Pay: £280.00-£300.00 per day
This is a hands-on, working supervisor role, ideal for someone who can lead a small team while remaining actively involved in installation work.
The Role:
- Supervise and lead a team of mechanical pipefitters on site
- Carry out hands-on mechanical installation work
- Read and interpret technical drawings to support installation
- Install and oversee large-scale pipework systems (up to 800mm)
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
- Coordinate daily activities to maintain productivity and workflow
- Work collaboratively with other trades and site management teams
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical installation (pipework essential)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience leading or supervising teams on site
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
- Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
- CSCS card
Desirable:
- SSSTS or SMSTS (not essential)
- Experience working on water treatment or clean water sites
- Water Hygiene certification (can be provided if required)
