Our Client
Our client is a world-renowned company that manufactures, maintains, repairs and overhauls all manner of rolling stock vehicles. They operate across the globe and have a major foothold in the UK markets with an extremely strong order book and customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end inspection process for all units, ensuring the team operates with utmost effectiveness, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement robust quality control measures for inspections, fostering a culture of precision and attention to detail.
- Establish and enforce clear procedures for accurate, consistent, and timely entry of all inspection findings and identified work into the MMS.
- Ensure data integrity across all MMS entries, providing a reliable foundation for defect tracking and resolution.
- Lead the process for thoroughly quantifying and accurately pricing all identified defects and required work within the MMS.
- Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to ensure realistic cost estimations and manage the defect lifecycle from identification to resolution.
- Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive periodic reports to the customer, detailing program progress, findings, and financial updates.
- Maintain proactive, transparent, and effective communication with the customer, acting as the primary point of contact and managing expectations.
- Implement and monitor rigorous quality assurance and control processes for all redelivery work, ensuring compliance, customer, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and manage non-conformances effectively, initiating corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies for the redelivery program.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and proactively manage risks and issues with mitigation plans.
General requirements
- Previous project management experience within the rolling stock industry is essential.
- Have a strong background in stakeholder management and depot maintenance activities.
- Experience with MS Projects is basic; Microsoft packages are essential.
- Experience with MMS (Maintenance Management Systems).
- A strong background in solving problems and issues that arise within rolling stock projects.
- A relevant HND or higher in some form of Engineering principle.
