ROLE OVERVIEW

A leading organisation in the life sciences industry is seeking a Principal Scientist in Structural Biology to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh. This role offers the chance to drive scientific excellence and growth within the Protein Biochemistry & Structural Biology service line. As a Principal Scientist, you will utilise your expertise in X-ray Crystallography, Cryo-EM, and structural biology to deliver high-quality client projects, shape service offerings, and mentor colleagues.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead client projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong scientific direction.
- Collaborate with the PBSB team, providing expert insight in X-ray Crystallography, Cryo-EM, and structural biology techniques.
- Mentor scientists, support training, and introduce new technologies to enhance capabilities.
- Ensure projects run smoothly, safely, and to the highest scientific standards.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant degree in Structural Biology or a related field.
- Extensive industry experience in X-ray Crystallography and Cryo-EM.
- A working knowledge and practical experience with leading client or collaborative scientific projects.
