Overview
Principal Electronic Design technical lead required to take ownership of the company\'s electronic engineering efforts.
You will report directly to the CTO and be the sole internal hardware resource.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the company\'s electronic engineering efforts, providing technical leadership across hardware development.
- Lead design activities using Altium for schematic capture, layout, and BOM development.
- Support automotive-grade power supply design, testing, compliance, and meeting technical requirements.
- Apply hands-on electronics skills including debugging, oscilloscope usage, soldering, and electronics test-house processes.
- Ensure radio compliance, EMC, cellular capabilities, and related regulatory requirements are addressed.
- Develop and validate data acquisition devices deployed internationally on heavy vehicles and across construction supply chains; generate valuable time-series data for cloud processing and machine learning pipelines to improve quality and efficiency.
- Address devices that include cellular, BLE, GPS, and CAN technologies in ongoing and future deployments.
- Lead research projects with custom designs, oversee compliance testing, and coordinate production with contracted manufacturers.
- Operate in a hybrid work environment with at least 2 days per week in the office.
Qualifications
- Strong degree in Electronics.
- Automotive industry experience across power supply design, testing, compliance, and technical requirements.
- Proficiency with Altium for schematic, layout, and BOM development.
- Experience with electronics test-house processes, debugging, oscilloscope, and hands-on soldering skills.
- Knowledge of radio compliance, EMC, and cellular technologies.
