The Role
- Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for scaffolding and specialist access projects
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects from tender through to final account
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Producing detailed take-offs, cost plans, and pricing schedules
- Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Preparing applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and producing regular commercial reports
- Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
- Supporting contract negotiations and subcontract procurement
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and operational teams
- Supporting project handovers and ensuring a smooth transition from pre-construction to delivery
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or in a dual commercial role within the construction industry
- Experience within scaffolding, access solutions, specialist subcontracting, or the wider construction sector would be highly advantageous
- Strong commercial awareness and estimating ability
- Experience managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
- A proactive, organised, and commercially focused approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
