We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Lead to act as a trusted advisor across environmental regulation, permitting, and hazard analysis on a major regulated site.
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental permitting (RSR, Installation/PPC, GHG) and manage variations, renewals & compliance.
- Provide environmental input into the nuclear safety case and lead Environmental HAZANs.
- Support Environmental Impact Assessments and planning submissions.
- Deliver environmental expertise for COMAH assessments and emergency planning.
- Integrate ISO 14001 requirements across project phases and construction activities.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, stakeholders and local communities.
- Provide environmental expertise for COMAH safety reports, consequence assessments and emergency planning.
- Support demonstration of prevention and mitigation capability for major environmental incidents.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of environmental permitting, nuclear safety case requirements, HAZANs, COMAH, EIA and ISO 14001.
- Experience in a regulated/high hazard environment (nuclear).
- Excellent communication, reporting and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Desirable
- Membership of IEMA, SRP, CIWEM.
- Experience with regulatory submissions.
- Knowledge of radioactive waste management and sustainability practices.
- Experience working on multifunctional or nuclear sites.
Security Vetting
UK Security Vetting Status - Ability to gain SC Clearance.
