A global engineering and technology organisation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its growing engineering team in the greater Bristol area. Working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will help design and develop electrical systems and sub-assemblies for highly engineered products used by international customers worldwide. The Role

Reporting to a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering electrical design solutions across new and customised product developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical modules and sub-assemblies for new and customised products
  • Produce detailed electrical schematics, drawings, models, and engineering documentation
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant international and industry safety standards
  • Support product verification through calculations, testing, and fault-finding activities
  • Select suitable electrical components to meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to engineering change and product customisation processes
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Support delivery of projects to agreed quality, cost, and timescale targets

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and proactive engineer with strong technical foundations and a passion for product development.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Around 2+ years of industry experience in an engineering environment
  • Experience using 2D CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar drafting software
  • Basic electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Experience

  • 3D CAD experience
  • Experience supporting product development and introduction activities
  • Exposure to PLC systems
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing techniques
