Our client, a leading Property Services company based in Plymouth, seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their painting and decorating team across the South West. The role involves tendering, estimating and measuring on site for various projects, largely within social housing and council/authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively tender, estimate and measure on site for a range of work, including established frameworks, core contracts and prestigious housing clients.
- Prepare cost estimates, value reconciliations and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Work with the Contracts Manager to set labour targets and direct labour incentives before contract starts.
- Build and maintain client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships and manage variations and progress.
- Analyse weekly site reports, ensuring they contain adequate cost, budget, quality and safety information.
Competencies & Experience
- Proven experience in a surveying role, commercial ownership of projects from tender to final account.
- Experience managing a value of work up to £2 million annually.
- Knowledge of Schedules of Rates (SORs); experience with paint, brickwork, plastering, roofing or civils preferable.
- Ability to work with direct labour teams, time sheets and incentives.
- Strong organisational, analytical, commercial and people‑centered skills.
