Are you ready to use your civil engineering skills to help shape, protect and restore some of the country's most valued natural landscapes?

We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Civil Engineer to support the delivery of infrastructure projects that enable nature recovery, environmental resilience and sustainable land management across the Yorkshire district.

Responsibilities

  • Make safety a priority and ensure contractors follow H&S standards.
  • Plan and deliver maintenance and project work.
  • Set up and manage contracts, including pre‑start meetings.
  • Check safety documents (RAMS) are in place and compliant.
  • Monitor contractor performance and flag issues.
  • Support senior engineers on larger or more complex projects.
  • Manage and support works supervisors/operators.
  • Produce simple designs and keep asset records up to date.
  • Support the delivery of infrastructure projects that contribute to biodiversity enhancement and nature recovery objectives.
  • Work with environmental specialists and operational teams to ensure engineering solutions support wider ecological outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a civil engineering role (planning, design, or site/contract supervision).
  • Minimum of HNC/D in Civil Engineering.
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience designing and safely delivering civil engineering projects, with a solid understanding of CDM regulations and related legislation.
  • NEC4 contract management exposure (not essential).
  • Confident IT user, including MS Office and ideally Auto CAD (plus any other relevant civils software).
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clean UK DVLA licence.
