An established and reputable internal fit‑out contractor, with over 35 years’ experience delivering projects across retail, commercial and industrial sectors, is seeking to appoint an experienced Estimator to support continued business growth. The company has built a strong track record for quality, efficiency and client service, working with a range of high‑profile clients on fast‑paced fit‑out and refurbishment schemes. This role would suit a commercially astute Estimator with proven experience in the shopfitting or interior fit‑out sector, comfortable operating in a fast‑track project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing tender documentation to ensure sufficient detail is available for accurate cost planning
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions, including take‑offs and Bills of Quantities
- Issuing subcontract enquiries, analysing quotations, and managing the tender evaluation process
- Managing and maintaining subcontractor databases and supply chain relationships
- Valuing subcontractor accounts and agreeing interim and final accounts
- Preparing cost plans, forecasts, and monthly reconciliation reports
- Identifying, analysing, and mitigating commercial risks across projects
- Managing and pricing variations throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting pre‑contract and post‑contract commercial activities and advising on contractual matters
- Maintaining accurate contract documentation and supporting procurement processes
Key Requirements
- Proven experience within the internal fit‑out or shopfitting sector
- Strong understanding of fast‑track project environments
- Working knowledge of JCT contracts
- High level of numerical accuracy and commercial awareness
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in subcontractor negotiation and account management
- Ability to produce accurate take‑offs and compile Bills of Quantities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients, consultants and design teams
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work to tight deadlines
- Full UK driving licence
