Our client, a well-established Accountancy practice, due to an exciting period of expansion, are currently recruiting an organised, proactive and flexible Senior Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a varied role and enjoys working with multiple clients across different sectors.
Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service delivery. You’ll work closely with Accountants and Client Managers to support smooth financial operations and contribute to high-quality client outcomes.
Reporting to the Financial Director, duties to include:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes and bank accounts at the end of each month.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports.
- Process accounts receivable and payable.
- Process checks.
- VAT returns.
- Monitor and manage sales and purchase ledger.
- Supporting the FD with cash flow forecasting, departmental budgeting, and cost centre analysis to drive efficiencies and improve workflows across the business.
- Handle monthly payroll using accounting software.
- Communicating with Inland Revenue, banks and external auditors when required.
- Forge excellent and effective working relationships with all departments and colleagues.
As an ideal candidate you will have experience within a similar accounts/Bookkeeper role and experience within an accountancy practice could be beneficial. You will possess a good numerical aptitude, attention to detail, excellent communication, both verbal and written. A good working knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software, such as Xero, SAGE or QuickBooks is essential.
