We are an extremely fast‑paced 24/7 multi‑trade contracting firm based in our hometown of Paisley (no remote working). We operate mostly in social housing and also in private domestic homes. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, reporting to the Business Systems Director. As a 24/7 reactive repairs, maintenance & refurbishment company, we deliver in excess of 2,500 jobs each month, all measured against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), ranging from small repairs to larger works known as voids. All works are pre‑determined through an agreed SoR (Schedule of Rates) with each customer, with the exception of private works, which are estimated in the usual manner at the outset of enquiry.
The successful candidate will be fully responsible for the immediate review and billing of completed jobs. This role primarily involves evaluating costs at the end of each job, analysing them against the agreed SoR, and ensuring all costs are fully covered while maintaining profitability. For private domestic jobs, you will issue quotations. These works are primarily plumbing and heating but also include bathroom and kitchen refurbishments, boilers, general plumbing, electrical work, and combinations of these. You will also be responsible for invoicing upon completion.
Key Responsibilities- Work with our job management system, simPRO, ensuring all tasks and stages are accurately recorded and managed
- Understand how SoRs work; knowledge of frameworks such as M3NHF (Housing Federation) is highly advantageous
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment for private and social housing works
- Maintain and update simPRO diligently and effectively
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Deliver excellent customer service, with strong numeracy skills and commercial awareness
- Attend customer meetings to present, discuss, and agree on costs to maintain profitability
- Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve shared objectives
- Maintain a solid understanding of social housing and private domestic works
- Apply strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
- Show flexibility, initiative, and a positive, self‑motivated attitude
